Visitors, children and adults too, do a hands on inspection of a just-shorn black sheep. Wool has an oily feel because of the lanolin content. Lanolin softens hands and is an ingredient in hair products like Bryl Cream. Black wool is not as valuable as the light colored version and is kept separate. By fall the sheep will have grown a new coat of wool. |
