Feb 2006 YELLOW LADY SLIPPER
N. Walker

Too late for this year, Lady Slipper bloom already gone.

There are several varieties of Yellow Lady's Slipper, including, pubescens, calceolus and parviflorum. The Yellow Lady Slipper is rare and needs to be left alone in the few places it is surviving. Removing these plants from the wild is a no-no. Transplants will not survive anyway with out very speciallized knowledge.

The plant belongs to the orchid family. Yellow Lady's Slipper has more upright leaves than its pink cousin Cypripedium acule.
