|| INDIAN PAINTBRUSH
Indian Paintbrush (Castilleja indivisa) is now called Texas Paintbrush to be politically correct. It is an extremely popular well known wildflower and an important source of nectar for hummingbirds. It grows naturally in Texas and as far east as Arkansas but grows well in Alabama also. It has been used by the Alabama highway department in median plantings. In Texas it is mixed with Bluebonnets for their famous highway displays.
