Dr. Sam Lowry generously provided a free outdoor clinic for Maple Hill Stroll visitors. Here he is shown with his heart tester and potential patients.
Dr. Lowry (1850-1906) was descended from Huntsvill's earliest settlers. Among his clients were Madam Mollie Teal's girls. He was given a original painting called "The Milkmaid" by patient Maria Howard Weeden..The journal on the table lists his patients and account status. Dr. Lowry, in his current incarnation still practices medicine as an orthopaedic surgeon.
