ADJUSTING THE TENSION ON THE DRIVE CORD
The large wheel is foot pedal operated. With the double drive cord, the bobbin and flyer are driven at high speed (rpm) to twist the wool (or other fiber) into yarn. The difference in speed between the bobbin and flyer determines the amount of twist given to the yarn wound on the bobbin .
The yarn is then used for weaving into fabric for clothing and bedding.
